So I didn’t think it would be fair to pile all my strawb daqs from here there and everywhere against my hometown champions because not everyone has the chance to go across the continent in search of the perfect daq.
Presenting: strawberry daiquiris ranked: world tour
A still equally as awesome amalgamation of strawb daqs tried and tested by yours truly, just a bit further a field than the good ol’ Glasgow.
Revolucion de Cuba - Liverpool

Rev de Cuba just know how to knock it out the park, it was fantastic however the extra ice at the top seemed a bit random? But other than that a great effort, and cheaper Sun-Wed too!
MOJO - Manchester

This one was really lovely, perfect glass and priced well (around £7 ish). Exactly how a strawb daq should be!
The Alchemist - Manchester

Better than the attempt from Liverpool, it has a really sweet taste to it so I don’t think I could have more than one but it was really nice!
Marks deducted for boring glassware but other than that, a worthy addition.
The Shankly Hotel - Liverpool

This is a hard one. I enjoyed the presentation, the flavour was amazing and it was the perfect consistency. However, it was rather dear around £8 again for a pretty small glass. In addition, when we ordered a second one the glass was even smaller! Bit of a shame really as you weren’t getting as much for your money.
The Alchemist - Liverpool

Unfortunately, not quite as good as their counterpart in Manchester purely due to the liquid section at the bottom. However, it did taste just as good.
Alma de Cuba - Liverpool

Did not enjoy the mint on top as the whole top part of the drink tasted like mint. It did come in a hurricane glass and it was frozen so bonus points there.
I just wasn’t a fan of how icy it was and lacking in strawberry flavour. Definitely not the best but also not the worst.
Bloom - Newcastle Under Lyme

There seems to be a running theme here with half full strawb daqs and I’m not here for it. Unfortunately, a relatively small glass yet pretty penny for it at around £7.50 odd - do people forget there’s only 1 alcohol in this cocktail?!
It tasted alright though, but I’m not sure I’d run to order another.
Roxy Ballroom - Manchester

This one has such a weird taste to it, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It also came in a pretty small glass despite its £7 odd price ticket. Nothing to rave about unfortunately.
- Manchester

This was a very poor daq. Strawb seeds, half a glass and look at that poor strawb abandoned on top.
This wasn’t cheap either, around £8.50 for this attempt and it didn’t even taste that good either.
