My mum got Kieren and I vouchers for my birthday to spend a wee night away in a Edinburgh. It was amazing!
We stayed in The Hub by Premier Inn on Rose Street which was so good, close to Waverley Station and right in about all the pubs and bars in the City Centre. The room was compact quite like a Citizen M room but had enough room for us, as well as a TV full of movies and amazing shower.

After we got settled in, unpacked and got ready we headed to Amarone which was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel.
My mum also got us a voucher for dinner too so we ordered drinks at the bar whilst waiting for our table. I had a Strawberry Daiquiri obviously and Kieren had a pint of Menabrea. Then we headed to our table.
We ordered Foccacia Rosmarino (pizza bread with rosemary and sea salt) for starter to share then for mains, I had Tagliolini Al Ragu (linguine with beef Ragu) and Kieren had Vitello Alla Milanese (lightly breaded pan-fried veal with tomato and basil penne).
After dinner, we headed to The Dome for some drinks.
After looking through the menu I thought I’d chance it and ask if the bartender could make us Strawberry Daiquiri’s and he was more than happy! The Dome is absolutely stunning and we couldn’t believe how big it was!
We headed back to the hotel hotel as I couldn’t walk any longer in my heels and we’d have more than enough to drink for one night.
Check out wasn’t until 12pm which meant we could get up late and then head for breakfast but to be honest, it was more lunch by the time we got up and ready.

We went to Wetherspoon’s Standing Order and had the best breakfast I’ve ever had. 2 full breakfasts (minus the eggs because we’re weird) and 2 drinks for £13! Pretty decent for Edinburgh City Centre.
Overall, it was a great wee weekend away and something we’ll need to go back and do again!
